Bangka Island is well known for its white sand and beautiful beaches, such as Pantai Pasir Padi, Pantai Matras, Pantai Parai and Pantai Tanjung Pesona. Other attractions include beach resorts and historic buildings dating from the era of President Soekarno, during the period of his incarceration by the Dutch. Visit Chinatown, situated around Pkakak Liang - Belinyu, and sample the traditional crackers that are still produced by the local Chinese community.
